Andy Carlson's Home Page
This page is a
somewhat belated effort to bring together links to a number of things
with which I am involved or interested around the Internet.
Family
History (and Related Matters)
This has been an interest of
mine for a couple of years now. One of the results of this is a
collection of family trees which can be found on GenCircles
I've
also written a number of 'stories' which explain aspects of my family
history beyond the bare bones of names, dates and places. I am in the
process of turning these into Web Format and uploading them to this
site. So far, I've done the first one :-
Likely future attractions include:-
- The Life of Harold Gustavus Carlson
- The Youltons of Cornwall
- The Maritime Career of William Jago, Father, Son and Grandson
- ... and I must get round to writing something similar about my Mum's side of the family
Since one branch of my
family included a number of Cornish tin miners, I've also been finding
out more about this area and have contributed some material about this
to the Wikipedia
pages on Tin Mining
Enigma and Cryptography
Some
years ago I wrote a Java Simulation of the German Enigma machine which
anyone with a Java enabled web browser can use. It hasnt been updated for a while, but it's still there and it still works.
Software Development
This
is what I do for a living. Some older material is on the 'Net and is
accessible from my
page on the original WikiWikiWeb
